Question 1 In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?





In the above video, we have compared 9 shots from the film 'Panic Room' to 9 shots from our thriller film 'Chasing Fate'. The similar codes and conventions in both pieces were:

• The Production team were shown first.
• Both main characters were established at the beggining.
• The Mise en scene created a thriller effect. For example, the red static effect in our thriller, and the dark, gloomy room in 'Panic room'.
• The pace of the editing were both quick changes.
• They both have extreme close ups.
